do the math, adopt a rescue

If you're thinking of a getting a cat or dog for someone this Christmas, please please stay away from pet stores and visit your local shelter. If you don't find an animal there, ask them about local rescues (who often have many pure-bred animals who need homes).

Rescues make the best animals, and the karma you will build up for saving a life is immeasurable.

Prints of this photo are available for purchase at my Etsy shop.

Hi Susan! I saw you featured on Blu and I just wanted to say how much I love your galleries! But what I love more is your speaking out about adopting shelter pets! I volunteer at Seal Beach Animal Care Center every Saturday morning (7am!) and it's changed my life. I love hearing people suggest shelters. Thank you so much!

P.S. If you're still looking for trade-for-print sessions, I'd be happy to participate. I live in Los Al so I could meet you somewhere in the city if you'd like. I'd be up for funky locations or ideas, too!
